Happy New Year! + Blog Design Update

Hello book lovers :) I just wanted to wish you a happy new year in advance I hope you've reached your 2015 Reading Challenge goal (if you participated) and that you've read amazing books this year. Anyhow, you'll have 366 days next year to read even more!

Reading challenge banner
8 hours left of 2015 and I have ONE book left to read to reach my goal, which is to read 50 books. I'm half way through None of the Above by I.W. Gregorio and I'm pretty sure I'll finish it before 2016.

And as you probably can see, I have a new-ish blog design. It's more of an update to start of the new year. I like it a lot *Jim Carrey voice*. Sorry if you find it annoying that I change my blog design quite frequently, but I just love making them :)

Review: Bone Gap by Laura Ruby

Title: Bone Gap
Author: Laura Ruby
Series: -
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy, Magical Realism, Mystery
Pages: 373
Published: March 3rd 2015 by Balzer + Bray
My rating: 5/5

Summary: Everyone knows Bone Gap is full of gaps—gaps to trip you up, gaps to slide through so you can disappear forever. So when young, beautiful Roza went missing, the people of Bone Gap weren’t surprised. After all, it wasn’t the first time that someone had slipped away and left Finn and Sean O’Sullivan on their own. Just a few years before, their mother had high-tailed it to Oregon for a brand new guy, a brand new life. That’s just how things go, the people said. Who are you going to blame? Finn knows that’s not what happened with Roza. He knows she was kidnapped, ripped from the cornfields by a dangerous man whose face he cannot remember. But the searches turned up nothing, and no one believes him anymore. Not even Sean, who has more reason to find Roza than anyone, and every reason to blame Finn for letting her go. As we follow the stories of Finn, Roza, and the people of Bone Gap—their melancholy pasts, their terrifying presents, their uncertain futures—acclaimed author Laura Ruby weaves a heartbreaking tale of love and loss, magic and mystery, regret and forgiveness—a story about how the face the world sees is never the sum of who we are (via

Book Haul: The Lunar Chronicles #1-3

These books are so incredibly pretty in hardcover that I just had to buy them. I read Cinder earlier this year and I really enjoyed it. I've heard that Cress is the best out of the three, so I can't wait to keep reading this series :) Retellings are peeerfect!

Cinder, Scarlet and Cress are book one, two and three in The Lunar Chronicles written by Marissa Meyer.

You can find the books on Book Depository!
Cinder here, Scarlet here and Cress here.

Review: A Thousand Nights by E.K. Johnston

Title: A Thousand Nights
Author: E.K. Johnston
Series: ?
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy, Retelling
Pages: 336
Published: October 6th 2015 by Disney Hyperion
My rating: 3.25/5

Summary: Lo-Melkhiin killed three hundred girls before he came to my village, looking for a wife. When Lo-Melkhiin - a formidable king - arrives at her desert home, she knows that he will take her beautiful sister for a wife. Desperate to save her sister from certain death, she makes the ultimate sacrifice - leaving home and family behind to live with a fearful man. But it seems that a strange magic flows between her and Lo-Melkhiin, and night after night, she survives. Finding power in storytelling, the words she speaks are given strange life of their own. Little things, at first: a dress from home, a vision of her sister. But she dreams of bigger, more terrible magic: power enough to save a king ...if only she can stop her heart from falling for a monster. Set against a harsh desert backdrop, A Thousand Nights by E K Johnston is an evocative tale of love, mystery and magic that would not feel out of place if Scheherazade herself were telling it. And perhaps she is... (via

What to read this Christmas Break

It's Christmas break! Finally (I wrote this on December 22nd). I have never before longed for a break as much as I do now. I'm completely exhausted. But let's cut to the chase. Christmas break means READING, READING and READING as many good books as possible. For once, I have a good feeling about my reading possibilities this December. I have yet to read 4 books to complete the 2015 reading challenge though.. And I just noticed that I only have 6 days left to do it.. I really hope I can reach my goal this year. School starts January 12th for me so hopefully I'll get a lot of reading done until then :)

What I wish to read this Christmas break:
Opal (Lux #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Bone Gap by Laura Ruby
Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2) by Marissa Meyer
The Titan's Curse (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #3) by Rick Riordan

Oh, I almost forgot. Merry Christmas!

#4 Dream Casting | November 9 (Ben)

I just had to do a dream casting for November 9 by Colleen Hoover! I have found the perfect face for Ben, but unfortunately not for the main character Fallon. So this time around I will only do for one character and I hope that's okay. If I find Fallon in the future, I'll let you know :)
